I always see so many amazing looking Plant Based Milk Recipes online, but sometimes they look very time consuming to make. I love to make Homemade Almond milk, but I don’t always like to be left with the almond pulp after, because it can be hard to use it up every time! This is when I discovered you can make Hemp Milk without having to pre-soak the Hemp Seeds, and without having to strain it after blending it…what a dream come true!
This Hemp Milk takes only 5 minutes to put together, and tastes decadent and delicious! I created this recipe from adapting a few other similar ones online, and altering them to make my own. Since you don’t need to strain the milk, you get left with a milk full of healthy fiber! This milk is full of healthy fats, protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, and it’s so good for you.
You can use this as you would any milk alternative; it tastes great with cereal, oatmeal, muesli, tea, coffee, in a smoothie, for baking, to thicken soups, anything you can think of!
You will need:
- 4 cups filtered water
- 3/4 cup hemp hearts
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- a pinch of cinnamon
- a pinch of sea salt (optional)
- Place all ingredients in a high speed blender, and blend on high for 3-5 minutes.
- Once thoroughly blended, pour mixture into an airtight container and store in the fridge.
- Easy as that! This will store in the fridge for up to 5 days, shake before each use to mix it well. It will separate because their are no binding agents in this Milk.
I hope you all enjoy this simple recipe as much as I do! Let me know if you give it a try in the comments, or tag me on instagram: @TheHonestNutritionist
